Dr. Steve Barnett |
Dr. Steve Barnett is an anthropologist with a varied career in academia, business, and environmental issues. He has taught at the University of Chicago, Princeton University, Brown University, and M.I.T. Steve was also a Visiting Professor at the Wharton School and is a faculty member of the World Economic Forum (Davos). His business affiliations include senior positions at Nissan North America, Citibank, Ogilvy & Mather, and GBN (the Global Business Network).
He has published academic and general public books and articles on the effects of modernization on local cultures (especially South Asia), energy use behavior and values, post-WW II consumer evolution, consumer trends and social/environmental consequences, as well as scenario planning for improving corporate responsibility and product marketing. He has participated in environmental hearings and papers for OECD, the U.S. Congress, and the California Energy Commission. Steve received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and is based in New York City.
Steve is currently engaged in public and private sector projects on future military and political strategy and emerging consumer trends.
